About GCPTR

What is GCPTR?

The Global Council for Protecting Traders' Rights is an independent international non-profit organization that protects the rights of traders and promotes fair trade, through representation, legal support, education and trade opportunities.

In which countries does the Council work?

The Council is building a network of Country Directors and Legal Counsel in every country. The Global Network page shows the countries where representatives have been appointed.

Membership

Who can become a member?

Individual traders, companies, institutions, trading houses, strategic partners and academic institutions. Each has its own type of membership.

How do I apply for membership?

Choose your membership type, complete the application and attach the required documents. Once the Council approves it, you receive a digital membership card.

Trader protection

How do I submit a complaint?

Use the Trader Protection page: describe the problem, the parties and the countries involved, and attach your documents. A case officer follows the case until it is resolved.

Is my complaint confidential?

Yes. Complaints are handled in confidence and shared only with the people who handle the case.

Accreditation

What does GCPTR accreditation mean?

It means that the Council has verified the company or trader: its registration, documents, owners and business activity.

How can I check a certificate?

Enter the accreditation number or the company name in the verification tool on the Accreditation page.

Trading platform and Academy

Who can sell on the Global Trading Platform?

Only companies accredited by the Council can list products, so buyers deal with verified suppliers.

How do I register for a course?

Choose a course in the Global Academy and register your interest. The Academy team sends you the dates and enrolment details.
